Beta (Translation: Son) is a 1992 Indian Hindi drama film, directed by Indra Kumar and written by Naushir Khatau and Kamlesh Pandey. It featured Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Aruna Irani in pivotal roles. The soundtrack was composed by Anand-Milind. The movie is popular for its songs like "Dhak Dhak Karne Laga" and 'Koyal Si Teri Boli'.
The movie is an official remake of 1987 Tamil movie Enga Chinna Rasa,[1] whose story was inspired by the Kannada novel Ardhaangi, by B. Kuttaswamayy.
Beta was the Highest-grossing Bollywood film of List of Bollywood films of 1992. It received a leading 69 nominations at the 38th Filmfare Awards, including Filmfare Award for Best Film, Filmfare Award for Best Director|Best Director and Filmfare Award for Best Music Director|Best Music Director, and won 5 awards including Filmfare Award for Best Actor|Best Actor](Kapoor), Filmfare Award for Best Actress|Best Actress](Dixit) and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress|Best Supporting Actress (Aruna Irani).[2]
